Here are some examples of the projects Steve has worked on

D.I.Y. Projects undertaken

One picture is more valuable than a thousand words ...  The projects illustrated below are all Steve's work.  Sometimes alone, sometimes with the help of the customer, like the loft conversion, for example.  No other artisan has been involved in any of the projects, thus avoiding all complications of coordination and project management.

In the original basement, there was only a summer bedroom and a small shower room. Using the rest of the basement space, these were transformed into a self catering studio, a guest suite with bathroom and a master bedroom with en suite bathroom, all with access to the terrace.

The kitchen, in this small holiday flat was really derelict.  The wall units had fallen down, the sink tap had been replaced by a small length of hose with a shower head tied to its end.  There were leaks everywhere ...  In its place is now a smart compact and efficient kitchenette, that looks and feels a lot bigger and has everything one can need to cater for the 6 people that the flat can accommodate. Loft conversion in progress.  This loft was just an enormous empty space under the tiles.  No isolation, no floor boards, bare untreated stone walls.  The first job was to insulate the floor and install floor boards.  Primarily, because the ground floor was very difficult to heat in the winter.  While working, they discovered that one of the main beams was badly affected by termites.  Steve suggested, as a cheaper easier option to replacing the beam, to split the space in two, and use the partition as support for the roof. They then insulated the roof, and finished it with cladding.  Now two handsome rooms were in effect created, and Sheila and John decided they would make really spacious and pleasant bedrooms.  The next step is to add Velux windows, to bring natural light and air.  Then of course, a bathroom will be handy ...  watch this space!
